In Seattle’s International District (ID) on the corner of 6th and King Street lies a gem of a bakery that seems out of place. With a fantastic selection of French pastries, you would think you were in Paris or neighborhood bakery serving up fresh baked goods. Instead, you will find yourself at the Seattle location of Fuji Bakery, a small bakery specializing in all things delicious.
There are three pastry cases with unique items like their Moogle, a flaky pastry with strawberry milk cream, coconut and organic raspberries. Or try their Jade croissant that has been double baked with chocolate with a green tea topping. You’ll also find your traditional plain croissant, chocolate croissant, twice baked almond croissant and a variety of French breads.
Our family favorite is their Curry Bun. It’s my husband’s childhood favorite and he gets one every Saturday morning. It’s a soft, almost brioche like bread filled with traditional Japanese curry and deep fried to a golden brown.
Fuji Bakery offers espresso beverages and a variety of sodas to wet your whistle. There is limited seating, but I love how they nicely box your pastry selections for the road.
