Full disclosure:  I’m an Ethan Stowell fan.  There!  I said it.  Now let’s move onto his latest restaurant opening:  Red Cow in Madrona.

Madrona is one of those neighborhoods that is off the beaten path.   There isn’t much to do and unless you live in the neighborhood, you’re in and out.  Regardless, Madrona is beautiful and the small town feel is perfect for this newest food addition.

Red Cow is an Ethan Stowell restaurant that specializes in steak frites (steak and fries) and French bistro food.  You’ll find charcuterie, different cuts of steaks, salads and a other delicious items you would expect from a French brasserie.

The dining space is tall, open, narrow and seats about 35 according to their website.  There is a full bar area with additional seating and a view of the kitchen.  I was there on a weeknight and the restaurant was crowded and loud (a little louder than I would like).

We asked our server, Cameron to order for us.  The menu looked good and choosing specific items didn’t seem like fun so we decided to be surprised.  We gave him a specific price range and to run with it.  We were presented with the following:

Everything I ate was delicious.

Being a newly opened restaurant I take my chances as many times the staff have to work out their kinks.  Newly opened sometimes means slow service, subpar food and a non-memorable dining experience.  This certainly was not the case.  Ethan Stowell does it again.  A great restaurant and I would go back.
